During an interview with NBA TV, when LeBron James was asked whether he could picture himself anywhere else other than Miami he said no. But LeBron clarified that he will still be assessing his future at the end of the season and nothing is set until the summer.
According to James, the focus lies solely in July, everything else can come afterward, and with good reason. Virtually everything about the Miami Heat hinges on whether the super team they managed to put together in 2010 can win another title and nothing less.
The Heat face a salary cap ceiling that isn’t sustainable if everyone on the current team remains, not to mention the players who will want a bigger contract; therefore, some pieces will have to go.
James joins a host of other stars in free agency for next season. Most notable are Heat teammates Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, as well as Dirk Nowitzki, Luol Deng, Pau Gasol, and Carmelo Anthony.
