England striker Daniel Sturridge insists that the English team is not afraid to face a fit Luis Suarez. England and Uruguay are set to face against each other on Thursday.

Holds No Fear

Suarez is expected to return to fitness after picking up a knee injury. The Liverpool player missed Uruguay’s opener, which saw the great footballing nation fall to Costa Rica, 3-1.

Sturridge, however, hopes his Liverpool teammate to be fully fit in time for their match. “I hope he’s fit, we want to face the best Uruguay possible.” “It’s about our team and we will look to play the same way whether he’s fit or not.”

“I’m not on texting terms with Luis at the moment. I don’t think Steven Gerrard, Jordan Henderson, Glen Johnson or Raheem Sterling are either. I don’t think he wants to give away how he’s feeling.”

Group D

Both England and Uruguay were drawn to Group along with Costa Rica and Italy, the top two teams in the table currently. England were unfortunate to lose their opening match against a superb Italy.
